Visual Roof Survey

A visual roof survey is performed to note any visually identifiable deficiencies that may require repair or replacement.

Prior to initiating a visual roof survey general measurements of the field of roof, rooftop equipment, and drainage system locations are taken. This information is used to generate a roof plan depicting the outline of the roof, general locations of penetrations and equipment, and drainage systems. Also, deficiencies observed during the visual roof survey are annotated on the roof plan.

Core sampling is performed during this survey to determine those components comprising the roofing system, their thicknesses, possible methods of attachment, and their observable condition. Moisture content is described as either wet or dry. Determination of moisture content, percent moisture content by weight or volume, can be determined as part of laboratory testing.   Our report presents our findings, conclusions, recommendations, and budget estimates for remediating or replacing the roof. Photographs and color-coded roof plans are also presented in our reports.
